How to find us
Low Luckens farm is located in North-East Cumbria close to the
Scottish Borders and Hadrian’s Wall, in easy reach of the M6 motorway
at Carlisle (junctions 43/44)
From Carlisle – Take the Brampton Road past the old Art College (now University of Cumbria), which becomes A689.
About 6 miles out of Carlisle turn left, sign Irthington. Go straight through Irthington, and 3/4 mile after the village turn left onto the Brampton-Longtown Road (A6071).
Go through Newtown village and 1/2 mile later turn right, sign Hethersgill.
Go straight across cross-roads in Hethersgill and just over 1 mile later keep straight on, sign Shankhill (do not bear right with the main road).
After 1 1/2 miles turn right at Shankhill School cross-roads, sign Mallsburn. After 1/2 mile turn left at T-junction, sign Roadhead, then immediately right, sign Low Luckens.
Follow the tarmac lane for 1 1/4
miles, keeping left, to Low Luckens Farm.
From Brampton – Take the
Longtown Road out of Brampton (A6071). After 1 mile cross traffic light bridge.
Go another mile and, after Newtown village, turn right, sign Hethersgill. From
Hethersgill follow directions from Carlisle.
From Longtown – Coming from the
north, turn left at the Graham Arms. After 1 mile turn right opposite white
bungalow, sign Stapleton. Follow the road for about 6 miles to Shankhill School
cross-roads. Go straight over, then follow directions from Carlisle.
