Low Luckens Organic Resource Centre
Schools
Low Luckens has been working with a number of rural and urban schools, these include Shankhill, Longtown, Morton Park and Bewcastle Primary Schools. We try and arrange for the children to visit three times during the academic year. This allows the children to follow the seasons and how the wildlife and farm jobs change to accommodate the change in the weather.
Family Groups
Howgill Family Centre is designed to promote quality time for families who are living in a difficult social environment. Howgill family groups have been visiting the Farm and Centre over a number of years, enjoying a range of activities including treasure hunts, conservation work and shelter building.
Conservation Groups
B.T.C.V. and local volunteers are just two of the groups who have enjoyed "hands on" practical conservation work at the farm.
Other Organisations
The Centre is used as a venue for farm based training and hosting a range farm and conservation related events. The Soil Association, Forward Farming, Newton Rigg, RSPB and Cumbria Organics have all used the farm and Centre to host a number of specific events.
